There's Something Fabulous About You!

Good morning!!

So I saw another fabulous sketch over at Cardabilities, and decided to play along again this week! So much fun! If I was more tech knowledgable I would be able to provide you with a link to their blog, but I'm not so I'll just type it in here and you can paste to your browser!

Here's my card for this week, it's going to be a birthday card for my SIL!! Hey I'm actually early with a card this month! Yeah me!!

Used the Top Note die cut from Stampin Up! and the new cupcake punch, so fun and stinking cute!! I'm also thrilled because I learned a new technique this week! See the gathered ribbon across the bottom? I finally learned how to do it! Not too bad for a first attempt. I've seen this technique on hundrends of cards and was always so jealous! I thought there was sewing or something like involved, turns out all you have to do is apply a strip of sticky tack, or whatever you use, and stick, gather and twist the ribbon where you want it, SO EASY! You'll be seeing more of this now that I learned how easy that was!! Thanks again Becky Roberts for sharing your tips with us!!

Please feel free to leave any comments or questions!!!

Also, coming soon - a new class I'm going to be holding shortly! If you love rubber stamping and paper crafting, come join me in a fun and easy new class! Details and photos to be added shortly!

Take care,

Valentine for the Hubby

I'm seeing cupcakes everywhere these days, they seem to be the hottest thing right now, so I decided to try one on a card for my hubby for Valentine's day. I used 2 different cartridges for the cupcake because I liked the top of one, and the bottom of another. I used my Stampin UP! crimper to crimp the cupcake wrapper, and give a nice texture and feel. Stamped Wonderful and husband, tied a ribbon on it and voila, it's all done.

I can't wait for my cupcake punch to arrive from Stampin Up! It's not as big as this cupcake but I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of it!

If you haven't had a chance, pop on over to my Stampin UP! website www.MelissaAzzopardi.stampinup.net and check out the fabulouse SALEABRATION going on now. Look under Promotions, and when you're ready you can order directly online, under the PRODUCTS tab!!!

Take care,

Birthday Boy card

I definately stuggle when it comes to making a masculine card! I can't very well fill in the empty spots with flowers now can I. So I'm sort of pleased with how this card came out. I had the patterened paper at home, and used the scallop square punch, added a stamped sentiment, a button and a cupcake, all manly things right? and called it done! What do you think? Using kraft paper as the base really helped too I think.

Supplies

from Stampin Up!

kraft cardstock
scallop square punch (so handy!)
sentiment from the Birthday Bliss stamp set

Martha Stewart cupcake punch

Enjoy your Friday!!!!

Happy Birthday Card

Made this cute little card for one of my nephew's birthday. I saw a card similiar to this on someone else's blog, tweaked it a bit and voila......this is what I came up with! What do you think of the colours? Red, blue and brown, a different combo I think, but I really like them together. Something definately new and a bit bold for me!
I love punches, they are so quick and easy to use. I used the Martha Stewart cupcake punch for this card. I really like the design, think I'm gonna make a few more like this to sell in my much neglected Etsy shop!
Ribbon is Real red from Stampin Up! (109052)
Scallop punch (112091)
Real red cardstock (102482)
